Period Poverty

 Cupys

Around the world, all females are not fortunate enough to buy sanitary products. So what is period poverty? Period poverty is the lack of access to sanitary products due to financial constraints. Imagine not being able to afford sanitary products to manage a regular occurrence in your life.

Talking about period is a taboo subject in many countries, it brings shame and embarrassment. Could this be down to the lack of education on periods? Or is it that peoples mindset needs to change?

Action Aid states that 1 in 10 girls miss school because they don't have access to sanitary products or because there are not safe, private toilets to use in school. In India, approximately 12% of its 355 million menstruating women cannot afford period products.

Here at Cupys, we want to help and support in ending period poverty which is why we have a buy one, donate a one to a female in need. Having one Cupys will last up to 10 years. So in some countries, there will be no need in having to make sanitary pads out of old cloths or not worrying about having to afford monthly products.
